Weekly Photo Challenge: Transition

In response to the Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Transition

I’m delighted to show you a selection of photos of the weather transition around beautiful Snowdonia National Park, it boasts vast areas of natural beauty and unique scenery. It is known as Eryri in Welsh a name that can be translated as “the place of the eagles”.

Tryfan Stream
Tryfan mountain forms part of the Glyderau group, and is one of the most famous and recognisable peaks in Britain, having a classic pointed shape with rugged crags. At 917.5 m above sea level it is the fifteenth highest mountain in Wales. Top of Tryfan looks like a face looking up, with the mouth on the left then the nose and eyebrows – can you see it?

Boat House
Llyn Ogwen, one of the most popular lakes in north Wales, lies between the two mountain ranges of the Carneddau and the Glyderau. It stands at the head of the Nant Ffrancon Valley. Ancient legend links Llyn Ogwen with King Arthur, and it is said that the lake is the final resting place of his sword Excalibur

Tryfan mountain forms part of the Glyderau group, and is one of the most famous and recognisable peaks in Britain, having a classic pointed shape with rugged crags. At 917.5 m above sea level it is the fifteenth highest mountain in Wales. Llyn Ogwen is a ribbon lake in north-west Wales. It lies alongside the A5 road between two mountain ranges of Snowdonia, the Carneddau and the Glyderau. Llyn Ogwen lies at a height of about 310 metres above sea level and has an area of 78 acres but is a very shallow lake, with a maximum depth of only a little over 3 metres. It is fed by a number of streams from the slopes of the mountains which surround it, which include Tryfan and Pen yr Ole Wen.

Fairy Glen

Fairy Glen is a secluded gorge on the River Conwy and is located only a short distance from Beaver bridge on the outskirts of the village of Betws y Coed, north Wales, UK. The picturesque gorge is a great favourite with both photographers and artists. The wooded gorge is a protected wildlife site and has a large population of rare ferns and lichens.
