June Photos Snowdonia

My first day out in over 6 months the weather forecast had showed my chosen day as being the best for the upcoming week.

Where I live on the coast was lovely when I woke and I was excited to be getting out after so long, I even watched a few YouTube refresher videos on using my camera.

It’s nearly a 1 hour drive to the mountains of Snowdonia and the weather had changed dramatically on arrival, most of the day was thick clouds, rain and wind not the ideal weather for a photography day out in the mountains especially when I like to get foreground, middle and distance compositions.

I decided it was pointless being depressed sitting in the car so braved the elements with my 10 stop filter fitted to the camera to try and get some drama.

Here are a few that I managed.

rain clouds and long exposure at Llyn y dywarchen fishing lake and boats, Snowdonoa north Wales, UK
Gwynant Lake one of the most dramatic and beautiful valleys in Wales. Its northern slopes rise to the summit of Wales highest mountain Snowdon and to the south lies the relatively undisturbed hills of Moel y Dyniewyd and the Moelwynion range.
Old Boats on Lake Padarn near Pont Pen-y-Llyn bridge north Wales, UK
Pont Pen y Llyn bridge was built in 1826 to connect the Fachwen slate quarry to the main road from Caernarfon to Llanberis. It has four arches and crosses the river Rhythallt, the outlet of Padarn lake. Pen y Llyn means “end of the lake”. The lake is a glacially formed lake in Snowdonia, Gwynedd, north Wales, UK

  1. Thank you so much for visiting my blog while others apparently want to keep that a secret. I get the distinct impression that we’ve met before; a year and a half ago.

It goes without saying that all your pics are breath-taking! My favorite is the one of the bridge. The sky not only looks surreal, it also looks 3-D! I own a Canon 5D. It strikes me that I could learn a lot from you about how to get better use out of it. Someday soon, I’d like to dust off the old credit card, and get a canvas size of that bridge. Meanwhile, I’ll keep track of this wonder-filled site. And thanks again for your kindness Evan!

    • Thank you very much, if you search Serge Ramelli Photography on Youtube you will find a lot of his older stuff very helpful, You might find his teaching skills and french accent a bit difficult at the start but he’s well worth checking out.
Should you be interested my photos are available at FineartAmerca link on this site. All the best
